Major Eliezer Morgenstern, "Major Ezzy," is one of five children born to a Chabad family in Morristown, New Jersey. He attended Chabad Cheder in Morristown and went to yeshiva in Chicago Montreal and Israel.
On Simchas Torah (October 7th) Major Ezzy was in middle of dancing hakafot in synagogue when word began spreading of the unfolding tragedies. He quickly ran home to check his phone which was packed with messages…. the main one being notification that his unit had been called up.
Donning his uniform, he had just a few minutes to run by the synagogue to say goodbye to his wife and children. Since then, he has served over 120 days with his unit which was fighting in the north of Gaza.
Today, Major Ezzy lives with his wife, Michal, and their eight children in Yavne’el in Northern Israel. He heads his own company, MEM Engendering, developing and managing real estate projects.
Major Ezzy uses his position and influence to spread a message of hope and positivity, encouraging everyone he meets to do acts of goodness and kindness, perform mitzvos, and pray for our brothers and sisters and the soldiers of Israel.
